  1. What does BoardVantage do?

    BoardVantage offers a hosted service for secure board communications that centralizes documents, process and communication in a user-friendly Web portal. The system also provides rapid response capabilities for ad hoc meetings and automates recurring board process such as consents and director evaluations with workflows and dashboards.

  2. How do we get a license?

    BoardVantage is a SaaS service. Right-to-use is based on an annual subscription. Access is through a Web browser. There is no requirement for desktop software.

  3. How secure is the application?

    The BoardVantage application is hosted in a secured data center and protected by encryption and two-factor authentication. All aspects of the application security have been validated by independent 3rd party audits and BoardVantage is SAS70 Type II and SysTrust certified.

  4. Does BoardVantage staff have access to my data?

    All customer data is encrypted using inaccessible encryption keys. BoardVantage staff has no access to any customer content.

  5. Does BoardVantage monitor usage of my account?

    No, BoardVantage does not monitor customer usage. There is no audit trail of documents or any other confidential communication conducted on BoardVantage. Also, there is no electronic trail on individual computers, such as caching files, which might otherwise be used for future retrieval.

  6. What happens when I delete my data?

    BoardVantage maintains a single copy of each customer's data. Any deleted data will be purged from all BoardVantage servers and backup media within forty eight (48) hours.

  7. How is the application hosted?

    The application is hosted in a state of the art data center, which is SAS 70 Type II and SysTrust certified. Access is granted only to a restricted list of BoardVantage Network Operations staff which are identified by picture ID and biometric handprint scan.

  8. How is my data separated from your other customer's data?

    BoardVantage partitions data in separate databases, accessed by separate connection pools using separate user accounts and different passwords. Logical protection is achieved using a randomly generated, customer-specific, strong encryption key. All customer data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

  9. What type of redundancy plans are in place?

    All servers have at least one redundant server deployed in a load-balancing arrangement. These servers are automatically available in the case of a hard failure. BoardVantage maintains a hot standby facility in a geographically remote location.

  10. What type of backup process is in place?

    BoardVantage takes snapshots of encrypted customer data every 4 hours and maintain these snapshots for 48 hours. In addition encrypted customer data is backed up daily. and stored in a secure off-site location. Daily backups are maintained for 48 hours.
